Nomad started offering its first Summer Camp for children in Europe in 1995. At our summer surf camp in Galicia the boys and girls will be supervised. There is no noise allowed after midnight and there are adults sleeping on the compound at night. There is also a closed gate at night and a 24 hours security guard.
Freedom to walk out of the surf camp on the “free time” unaccompanied is also allowed only with parents written authorisation. They can only leave if in company of at least one other camper. They have to carry their phones with them with full battery in case we need to contact them by WhatsApp or vice versa. Green pass does not mean they can leave whenever they want. There is an exact time of “Free Time” and it will be during the day. No one is allowed to go out at night. Parents are responsible for their child while unaccompanied.

We will coach and make you surf better. For advanced surfers who bring their own short boards you will surf with the team of local teenage surfers. They surf different beaches depending on conditions. You need to be an independent surfer who can duck dive and get left and rights on your own.
Every day there is surf, mostly 2 surf lessons per day, for how long depends on the conditions, our goal is to have at least 4 hours of surf lessons per day. The other activities are focused to enhance your qualities for sport, improve your fitness and above all to have fun and live this Junior Surf Camp in Spain, the best experience of your life!!
All material is included, we have a ratio of only 6 teens per instructor!!

How are the waves?
Valdovinho beach has super fun waves for all levels form beginners to experienced surfers aswell, and is one of the best and most consistent surf spots in Spain. They do the Spanish surf national championship every year. If there is no waves here , there is no waves anywhere else.
We also have Pantin only 15 minute drive. Pantin surf spot is one of the most famous beaches in Spain for surfing and hosts the most important international Pantin surf contest.

The Nomad Surf Camp (Galicia) is hosted in Valdovino Beach, one of the best surf spots in Spain and where the Spanish national surf championship takes place every year. Valdovino is a small beach town, perfect for teenagers. Very Safe little town . And there is a board walk to walk along the beach where there are approx 10 restaurants and bars. This surf camp for Children is also located a few metres from the sands of AFrouxeira, a historical reference point for the beaches of the region, with more than 3,000 m of sea open to the immenseness of the Atlantic. A perfect paradise for swimming or long walks on the fine white sand, and with strong waves and constant winds, ideal for surfing. A rich natural space, with exceptional flora that annually receives more than 15,000 birds, making it a mandatory stop for ornithology lovers. The A Frouxeira lagoon and the Valdoviño dune system have been declared a Special Protection Area (SPA) and a wetland of international importance since 1993. They are part of the Galician submission for the NATURA NET.

The surf camp for children is only 1 hour away from two famous airports. Santiago de Compostela and La Coruna International airports, both have very good connections and cheap flights from all over Europe due to the millions of people that come each year to pilgrimage “Camino de Santiago”.
Pick up and drop off times on day of arrivals: Between 10 am and 7 pm. (other times will be considered after-hours). We help kids with check in at the airport on departure day.
If you have booked an airport transfer , we recommend that you send a Whatspp message to the surf camp manager the night before arrival to confirm the time of arrival.
It is also very important that your child has a his phone to communicate through Whatsapp with the person picking up at the airport (contact on booking confirmation).
Your child will often be one of many children arriving at the airport to be escorted to camp. Whilst the representatives will always try to arrange for onward transport to camp with the minimum of delay, it should be understood that your child may be required to wait at the airport before he/she commences the onward journey, due to flight delays affecting other children and/or difficult traffic conditions.
Families who book the service “Minors Unaccompanied” through the airline will have to pay a 75 EUR fee per way if you wish us to organise the airport transfers as we need to have a person that goes to the airport with the kids, helps with the check in and also waits until the flight departs. This sometimes means that our staff is waiting at the airport for 12 hours.
