Unlike the other surf camps in Spain, Portugal and France which host mostly local children, we host a variety of kids from all over the world and this is what we are known for.
Activities are done in English
Surf lessons and all activities are done in English. Our multinational staff and kids at the camps only communicate in English amongst each other.

The ocean is our playground and we love animals so this is why at nomad surf camps we organise beach clean ups and we try to be eco-friendly. We try to not use plastic bags, plastic cutlery, and plastic plates.

Sungai Watch is an environmental organization on a mission to clean rivers, starting in Indonesia.
More than 80% of plastic pollution in the ocean comes from rivers.
We believe one of the simplest ways to clean our ocean is by starting in our rivers, where we can still prevent the flow of plastics. Over the past year we have been testing, designing and deploying more than 100 barriers using the island of Bali as our test lab.

In June of 2018, I was lucky enough to find Nomad Surfers online. My son, Adam, was 16 at the time. We live in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the US. He had surfed 1 time in Costa Rica and really wanted an international camp experience. I had never heard of Nomad Surfers, but we took a leap of faith and signed him up! He did the 10 day Algarves, Portugal camp with Nomad Surfers iin 2018 and last summer (2019) he spent 10 days in Lisbon surfing with Nomad. Needless to say, HE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Meeting young people from all over the world expanded his awareness and, quite honestly, changed his perception of the world and its opportunities. Thais Almeida was so helpful and made some nervous parents...put your 16 year old on a plane in New Mexico and hope that he lands safely in a surf camp in Portugal... feel secure. Last summer, Adam's phone was stolen in Lisbon on Day 3 and he was going to be spending some time in Barcelona after the Lisbon surf camp with friends from the Algarve 2018 camp (Not bad, huh?). Thais and her staff were incredibly helpful and facilitated regular communication until he was able to purchase another phone in Lisbon. Many, many thanks to Nomad Surfers. Nomad Surfers allows these young people to have structure and freedom; a great combination. I feel incredibly fortunate to have happened upon the Nomad Surfer website and my son is forever changed from the experience.”

Hi Nomad Surf Camps, I recently got home from Caparica, Portugal. I really enjoyed my time at the camp and made lots of friends. We all enjoyed the camp so much that we are trying to arrange to go back next year. However, next year I will have turned 18 and as it’s an under 18’s camp I’m unsure as to whether I’ll be able to go. However, if I attended an over 18 camp I believe I would feel uncomfortable as the majority of people there would be adults and I will only be 18. As well as this I noticed that at the under 18’s surf camp I went to there were a couple of 18 year olds. One of the biggest reasons I would want to go back next year is to see the friends I made this year and I would not be able to do that if I went to the over 18’s camp. I really want to see my friends again and want to attend the under 18’s Caparica surf camp next year. Would this be allowed even though I will be 18? Many thanks, Archie”

I would just like to share our feedback on our summer camp in Portugal. It was out first ever surf camp and went in somewhat blind and I followed your judgement and was happy I did so. We really had a great, great time. The house with our private bathroom was perfect and exactly to our taste and liking as a family, the food was wonderful but mostly it was the teaching and the teachers. The teaching was professional, progressive, motivational, methodical and fun, really good and exactly what I was wanting as any prior teaching I’d had had all been too lose and random. All the teachers were all so nice and the vibe was perfect. I never got to say a big thank you for everything and a goodbye from us. Once again the surf camp was brilliant and we will only have good things to say about Nomad Surf Camps!!”

All surfing equipment is included but if you have your own surfboard you are welcome to bring it.

- The mobile phone is optional, the idea is that is disconnected from the electronics.
- Costume for last night costume party
- Surf Boards are welcome, Surf School is beachfront and it has a storage room available
- Pocket money we suggest 150 euros per week
If you like Skate board or surf skate you are more than welcome to bring it to use on the way to the beach!
Instruments are also very welcome, bring it and show your skills!!
The ages range from 12 to 17 years old. Although the large majority are 14, 15, and 16 years old. We also do surf camps exclusively for young people from 18 to 21 years old.
Yes of course. People who have never tried surfing and welcome. Many beginners every week.
Yes some surf camps have airport transfers and our staff will be waiting at airport. Transfer cost its mentioned in the webpage.
The reservation deposit paid to Nomad Surf Camps is non refundable under any circumstance.
If cancelation with less than 60 days there is no refund of amount paid. We strongly advise to get a travel insurance for any unforeseen circumstance.
If you booked more than 1 week but decide to cancel (with more than 60 days prior to arrival) 2nd, or 3rd week, you will pay 30% penalty fee for the weeks which you are cancelling.
